Postal Voters should have received their ballot papers; the Referendum is on Tuesday 30th July, so why do we need a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan gives a community some say over developments within its area… such as where building should take place and what the buildings should look like. It can also influence many other planning matters. It is a legal document which has to be referred to by the local planning authority as well as developers.
Without an NP a community has virtually no control over these things.
After numerous consultations with our community, the NP for Castle Cary and Ansford is completed, it has passed all the necessary examinations and other hurdles and now it is your chance to vote on whether it should be adopted. Remember without it we have no powers, with it we get some control over what happens to our Town.
Once a Neighbourhood Plan is adopted, we as a community can claim more money from developers than we otherwise could.
