Our Neighbourhood plan has been passed by both the Examiner and the District Executive.

This means we now go to a referendum.

The Question being asked is this:

‘Do you want South Somerset District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Castle Cary and Ansford to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

The Referendum, which is organised by South Somerset District Council is to be on Tuesday 30 July.

Voting will take place between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Castle Cary residents should vote in the Market House Shambles; Ansford residents should vote in Caryford Hall.

You will be issued with voting cards by South Somerset District Council and the process is very similar to a General Election, and the same postal and proxy voting rules apply.

If you’ll be away on 30th July, you can apply for a postal vote. You can download the form from this link, but have to send it by post to SSDC ( South Somerset District Council, Electoral Registration Officer, Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT)

You can borrow a hard copy of the final version of Neighbourhood Plan from the Market House Information Point.

The final version of the Neighbourhood Plan will appear online within the next few days at: www.castlecaryansfordnp.uk
