Meet the Builder at The Market House – Shambles. On Thursday 21st November 4 – 6 p.m.
A construction firm called Engie is inviting residents to talk to them on Thursday this week. Engie is employed by the developers Stonewater to build the 125 houses on Wayside Farm on Station Road (this is the last site on the left when travelling towards the Station). This site is now apparently called “Mulberry Meadows”! Representatives from Engie will be able to answer questions such as “When will the site be finished?”
Stonewater, the developers, are currently seeking to renegotiate the number of affordable homes on the site and the amount of S106 money paid to our community. (This is a levy, agreed at the outset, to help the community improve infrastructure). (Planning applications 19/02353/DPO & 19/01411/DPO) There may be a representative from Stonewater present. It is to Stonewater that questions about therequested reduction in funding for local projects should be addressed.
We (the Town and Parish Councils) opposed this development and it was passed at appeal by a Government Inspector. We are where we are, and it is going to happen. Please remember that it is rare for developers/builders to engage with the community and in this instance, if attending, extreme politeness is likely to result in the best outcome!!!
