Dear Patients

As of today Friday 13 March 2020

Members of the public who develop symptoms of new and persistent cough and / or a high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher) are advised to self-isolate for 7 days regardless or travel and contact history.

If you develop these symptoms please DO NOT come to the surgery or local hospital. If you cannot manage your symptoms at home and require medical treatment / advice please use NHS111 online 111.nhs.uk (please only telephone 111 if you do not have access to the internet).

Patients who are self-isolating for 7 days do not need a fit note, unless they need to isolate for more than 7 days as their symptoms have not improved, at which time they should use NHS111 online to obtain a fit note, Millbrook Surgery will not be issuing fit notes.

**Appointments**

We will only be allowing patients in to the surgery that

-Have a pre-booked appointment AND have satisfied us that they do not have symptoms (if you have a booked appointment you will be contacted prior by a member of our team either via text message or telephone, we please ask that you respond promptly)

Upon arrival to your appointment please report straight to receptionist who will check we have all of the information we need prior to telling the clinician you have arrived

OR

– Have telephoned us first and we are aware you will be attending the surgery for a specific reason, you will be asked the same screening questions regarding**Prescriptions**

We are advising that all patients order their repeat prescriptions online which is our preferred method (if you do not have online access please telephone us and we will set this up for you) If you do not have access to the internet you can telephone our prescriptions line 01963 359354 which opens at 11am Monday – Friday.

If you absolutely cannot use the above methods please put your repeat prescription slip in the post box on the wall outside of the surgery. Please do not come in to the surgery.

**Collecting hearing aid batteries, prescriptions, fit notes and other items**

If you need to collect an item from the surgery, please ensure you have telephoned us first so we are aware of your arrival at the surgery. You will be asked the same screening questions regarding symptoms.

** Groups at the surgery **

All groups that run at the surgery are now suspended until further notice. We are very sorry for this and understand this may be upsetting news to patients who enjoy coming to our groups.

**Health Visitor Clinic**

Health Visitor clinics are now by appointment only, please telephone us to book an appointment.

We have been advised by Public Health and NHS England to manage as much as we can remotely unless absolutely necessary for patients to be seen in the surgery, this means your care may be managed over the telephone or by online video consultation, please be reassured we will only use these methods if clinically appropriate and safe.

If you are worried or unsure about this guidance please telephone us. We will still ensure all of our patients are looked after and get the medical treatment they need, while still protecting the safety of other members of the public and our staff.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this change in the way we operate may cause and we understand this may be upsetting news to some of our patients. We are following the guidelines we have been given and are doing this to help delay the spread of Coronavirus.

Your cooperation and understanding is very important and appreciated during this time.

Best wishes, Millbrook Surgery
