The University of the Third Age (u3a) is a national organisation run by local groups. Camelot Area a3a membership is open to anyone in Castle Cary and the surrounding district who is no longer in full time employment. We meet at the Caryford Hall once a month for a talk given by a range of speakers on subjects such as travel, history, nature music etc.
We offer a variety of individual interest groups on a wide range of subjects such as Arts & Crafts, Reading and Poetry, Language skills, Photography & Rambling where members can share ideas, learn, create and improve their individual talents. These groups are run by the members and meet in a suitable venue such as Caryford Hall, The Shambles, Hadspen Village Hall or even in some of the members own homes either once a week, or once or twice a month.
We have over 250 members, many of which join one or more interest group and some just look forward to attending the monthly talk. If you would like more information about the u3a and our interest groups and maybe a membership registration form, please contact Brian Hunter our membership secretary (01963 359000) or visit the Camelot Area u3a website https://u3asites.org.uk/camelot-area/contact
