The Annual Parish Meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, 9th March. The Agenda for the formal part of the meeting can be seen here.

We “usually” meet on the first Friday of the month at 7pm, but there are rather a lot of exceptions in order to give a varied and interesting programme. Because it's Friday we try to make meetings fun and relaxed as well as useful! All meetings are open to everyone – just come along, and bring a small item of food to share, preferably home-made or sourced locally.

So our forthcoming programme is: -

Saturday 29 August - 9.30am at the Market House
A book swap session alongside CaryLive's castle-making session - bring a book and take a book.

Friday 2 September at 7pm
Barbeque with jam swap, food swap, recipe swap. Venue to be announced. We have ways of keeping you warm and dry!

Saturday 24 October - 9.30am at the Market House
Come and help have your apples pressed using traditional juicing equipment at the coffee morning. Bring your own apples and bottles. While you are there find out more about our group.

Friday 6 November - 7.00pm at Ansford School
Discussion on feasibility of garden-sharing scheme.

Friday 4 December - 7pm at Ansford School
Update on the “Transition Towns” scene; plus a look at the possibility of local shops operating a loyalty scheme.

Friday 8 January - 7pm at Ansford School
Revisit Freecycle. Swap unwanted Christmas presents or find them a good home.

DON’T MISS THIS POPULAR EVENT !

Many local residents, plus an increasing number that travel some distance, regard the evening as the ‘start of Christmas’ with all its traditional elements: Father Christmas, carols round the Christmas tree, lots of  entertainment for all ages and of course late night shopping. It’s just the right atmosphere to put you in the festive spirit. The High Street and Fore Street will be closed to traffic between 5.00 and 8.30 to allow a wide range of community and craft stalls to trade and entertain. And of course most of our wonderful local shops will
remain open, and visitors will be sure to find Christmas presents, even for the most demanding family members! There will be a quiz, too, that will get you hunting in the shops.

STAY ON TO 10pm AND ENJOY THE MUSIC !

As well as a range of street entertainers (including local primary school children), Morris Dancing, and
the very popular story telling, there will be musical ‘acts’ throughout the evening around the White Hart
area, including “Strip the Willow” and “The Johnsons” who will continue until 10pm.

TALENT SPOTTING TOO !

We also want to give local talent an opportunity to perform in front a family audience. If you have a skill or talent, from juggling to singing, from unicycling to acting scenes from Shakespeare or Victorian Music Hall, contact Steve Craggs on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. And our GRAND CHRISTMAS DRAW
TICKETS £1 ON SALE NOW.

Drawn at the Victorian Evening: Fabulous prizes to be won: £500 cash donated by Royal Canin and James
Wellbeloved; Off-peak short break in local self-catering Medieval Barn; Bed, breakfast and dinner for two at the George Hotel; Martin’s of Castle Cary Hamper; Vouchers from Holly Laine, Trowbridge Gallery and Dave Marsh Hardware. All proceeds in aid of the Market House Project.

Saturday 3 December at the Market House.
